Kapok – PLANTING TREE FOUNDATION PROJECT

As part of this project, we plant 10,000 kapok trees in Lombok / Indonesia.

STOLZ – PROTECTIVE has been using Zero Impact kapok padding in all insulation products for several seasons, as a deliberate departure from animal thermal insulation with feathers or down. We are proud of our joint PLANTING TREE FOUNDATION PROJECT, which goes beyond just planting. For us, the focus is on the transparency of sustainable and long-term planning in the team.

HONOR – for PROTECTIVE an honor to be able to make a positive contribution to the environment together in the PLANTING TREE FOUNDATION PROJECT. Kapok trees do not need irrigation, pesticides or fertilizers. They can grow both on hills in a species-rich environment and on land that is very difficult to use for agricultural purposes. The vegan, biodegradable kapok fibre/fruit is not a food and is used in all components without leaving any residue. The kapok tree supports polyculture in its planting and prevents soil erosion. For every kilo of kapok fiber, the kapok tree absorbs 5.09 kg of carbon.

LOVE – with love for nature, the product and the joint development in the team. The local tree keepers grow the first strong and healthy seedlings from the seeds. These are made available to local farmers for planting, both for the polyculture benefit in plantations (e.g. coffee) and for reforestation or planting in more impassable terrain. Even young plants, without fruit yield, offer a rich benefit in water storage.

THE REGENERATIVE PROPERTIES OF KAPOK TREES

Kapok trees do not need irrigation, pesticides or fertilizer. They can grow on hills in a biodiverse environment, as well as on land that is not suitable for agricultural purposes – resulting in a 100% positive impact on the environment. The biodegradable kapok fruit is not a food.
