PFAS-free at PROTECTIVE Sports

For our sportswear products labelled accordingly, we do not use PFAS.

PFAS are a group of fluorinated chemicals that, because of their particular properties, are used in the textile and clothing industry among others, for example for water- or dirt-repellent finishes. At the same time, PFAS are increasingly the focus of legislation and are already restricted or banned for certain applications.

Today there are PFAS-free alternatives for many applications. For our products labelled accordingly, we therefore use PFAS-free water-repellent finishes and membranes.

In the past, the textile and outdoor industry often used the term “PFC” or “PFC-free”. Today the term PFAS has become increasingly established. It describes the group of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances more comprehensively.
