From the snowboard to the bike, and from Bavaria via central Germany back to Lower Bavaria.
It all started in the snow. Today we ride bikes, on trails, gravel and road.
The beginning in the snow
In 1991 PROTECTIVE released its first collection, made for winter in the mountains. The brand was built by people who rode snowboards and bikes themselves and were looking for the right gear for it.
The bike joins in
In 1993 a bike collection was added, for the months without snow.
In the years that followed, the brand grew and moved several times: from Bavaria first to central Germany, later back again. What was learned at each location goes into the collections today.

With the relaunch, the headquarters moved to Passau, on the edge of the Bavarian Forest.
The range focuses on the bike: mountain biking, Gravel and bikepacking. We plan the collection from head to toe. Colours and materials are matched to each other, and the pieces can be combined with one another.
Since then the company has been called F&E Protective GmbH. The managing directors are Fengqi Hou and Michael Bogner. Innovate the Ride.
Arriving in Jahrdorf
From April 2023 we handle logistics ourselves. There was no longer room for it in Passau. Our new home is a 15-minute drive away in Jahrdorf, part of Hauzenberg.
Office, warehouse, showroom and repairs are all under one roof here.
