Rider introduction: Andreas Schrottenbaum
Servus, I’m Andreas, but most people know me as Schrotti. I originally come from Hauzenberg, but since 2011 I’ve been a Passau local at heart. You can find me on Instagram as @schrotti.a.
As for my cycling successes, I have a few to show. I’m a three-time Bavarian champion in MTB marathon (elite) and I also won the title of German university champion in MTB. At the Gran Fondo World Championships I finished 24th and 33rd, and I also competed in the elite class at the MTB Marathon and Gravel World Championships.
I’ve also held my own in gravel, with a strong 10th place at the UCI Gravel World Series in Poland, another 10th place at the Gravel Stage Race in Halmstad (Sweden) and 9th place at FNLD GRVL in Finland.
A race I really want to ride? I’m always on the lookout for new challenges, so wait and see!
My racing style? Well, that often depends on the race and how I feel on the day. I’m flexible and adapt to the conditions.
How would I describe myself? I think I’ll just borrow the words of Otto Peter at the RSV AGM 2024: “He often crashes or breaks something, but when that’s not the case, he’s really successful.”
My personal highlight for the 2024 season? Definitely taking part in the Gravel World Championships, after hopefully qualifying. Let’s conquer the gravel roads together and make Passau shine far beyond its borders!
