How to find the right rain jacket

Commuting and everyday riding

Short distances, changeable weather, often with a backpack: the P-Rain II with its relaxed fit goes over a jersey or sweater and is quickly out of the bag.

Long tours and persistent rain

If you ride for hours in the rain, you need a higher water column and more vapour transfer. The 3-layer models P-Space Age and P-Cloudburst reach 20,000 mm and 30,000 g/m² in 24 hours.

Sporty on gravel and road

The P-Cloudburst is stretchy and cut close to the body, so nothing flaps in the wind.

Women and men

Every model comes with its own women’s cut, recognisable by the W in the name. Depending on the model, men’s sizes go up to 5XL and women’s sizes up to 52. The measurements are in the size chart on the product.

Models with a PFAS-free finish are marked on the product. To go with them: the cycling rain pants and everything else in cycling rainwear.

Rain jacket without PFAS

You will find a PFAS-free rain jacket here in four models, each for women and men: P-Rain II, P-Day N’Nite, P-Cloudburst and P-Space Age. On these jackets the water-repellent finish and membrane are made without per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, recognisable by the PFAS-free note on the product page. They are still waterproof: the P-Rain II and P-Rain II W with a 5,000 mm water column, the P-Day N’Nite and P-Day N’Nite W with 10,000 mm, the P-Cloudburst and P-Cloudburst W, and the P-Space Age and P-Space Age W with 20,000 mm each.

Good to know: a PFAS-free water-repellent finish loses its effect sooner than the old fluorinated finishes. When water no longer beads off, you refresh it at home, with a wash-in or spray and some heat. How this works is explained in the guide Washing cycling clothing properly. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a cycling rain jacket and a normal rain jacket?

The cut. In the riding position you need freedom of movement at the shoulders and arms, reflective elements for road traffic and a small pack size.

Rain jacket or wind jacket?

The wind jacket is windproof and water-repellent and very light. The rain jacket has a membrane and also keeps out persistent rain.

How do I care for my rain jacket?

Use a little detergent, no fabric softener, and close the zips. Details in the washing guide.
